What Does Whey Isolate Mean?
Whey is generally distinguished by an extremely high proportion of essential amino acids. The more essential amino acids a protein contains, the more valuable it is for the body and the higher its biological value.
Whey protein is offered in three forms: With whey concentrate the protein is merely concentrated. This increases the protein content of the powder, but the carbohydrate and fat content is also relatively high. With whey isolate the protein content increases further and there is hardly any fat and carbohydrates remaining – this is the purest form of whey protein. We use exclusively whey protein isolate with almost 90% protein content.
Additionally, this protein can be pre-digested ("hydrolysed") to break down larger proteins and further improve digestibility. We also have such a whey protein hydrolysate in our range.
